FROM SARAP-TO-THE-BONES® TO SARAP-IN-A-BUN: SAVOR MAX’S ALL-TIME FAVORITE CHICKEN, NOW IN A SANDWICH

Max’s Restaurant has done it again with a classic reinvention of its all-time favorite Sarap-To-The-Bones® fried chicken: introducing Max’s Fried Chicken Sandwich!

The classic Max’s fried chicken is undoubtedly well-loved by Filipinos across all generations. Although, not a lot of people know that the truly original way that this Filipino classic was first consumed all the way back in 1945 was with fresh, hot rolls on the side. As a throwback to its roots, you can now treat your taste buds to a Sarap-In-A-Bun chicken sandwich.

What’s inside? A filleted version of Max’s iconic juicy, no-frills fried chicken seasoned and spiced the signature Max’s way. Now, it wouldn’t be a true Max’s experience without the trademark blend of banana ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, and that’s what’s drizzled over the chicken meat to add tang. Pickled cucumbers and shredded cabbage are then generously spread from top to bottom in between two buttery brioche buns to complete this flavorful and filling experience.

“Creatively re-engineering our Sarap-To-The-Bones® fried chicken to a sandwich puts us forward in providing our customers with more delightful ways to feast over classic local dishes that have stood the test of time,” says Max’s Restaurant Head Culinary R&D Chef Adrian Azurin. “It’s Sarap-In-A-Bun, literally, with our hero fried chicken, now in a format that’s perfect for today’s adventurous, mobile consumers. We specially curated the blend of banana ketchup and Worcestershire sauce to stay true to the authentic Max’s experience. The pickled cucumbers are not something usually associated with our fried chicken, but we love how their tartness makes each bit surprisingly fresh and zesty.”

With the new Max’s fried chicken sandwich, you’ll be surprised by just how filling one bite can be. It’s also served with a side of Max’s sweet potato fries and a garlic mayo dip, making it even more satisfying for every diner’s appetites.

“Just one plate is an explosion of flavors. We’re proud to turn an everyday snack into every diner’s main course with the perfect meat-to-bun ratio, and toppings and condiments that make the whole dish shine,” adds Chef Adrian.

For 75 years, Max’s has continuously catered to the changing appetites of its diners with its product innovations, while also staying true to its culinary heritage built on Filipino values.

“Since 1945, Max’s has become the tradition and institution that it’s known to be now because of our founders Maximo Gimenez and Ruby Trota’s humble beginnings of befriending American occupation troops stationed in Quezon City and serving our Sarap-To-The-Bones® fried chicken with hot, fresh dinner rolls,” says Max’s Restaurant Marketing Director Mark De Joya. “Our new fried chicken sandwich is a loving, respectful tribute to that. We believe this demonstrates the ability of our brand to balance both its history and heritage with new formats, flavors, and experiences that make Max’s forever relevant across generations.”

Indeed, everyone will come running to their nearest store and savor a massive bite of Max’s Fried Chicken Sandwich, available starting March 9 for only PHP249.

Food parks are booming right now. From what probably out as a concept based from Mercato, more and more establishments like that soon followed with themes more creative than ever. Now, people– barkadas and families alike– are enjoying the diversity of food located all in one place, the uniqueness of the park, and, of course, the instagram-worthy moments.

If you want to try going to one but you’re on a budget, don’t fret. We curated a list of food parks you can survive (and enjoy!) with just PHP 150.00! Check them out:

Gastro Park Infinity Kapitolyo

A post shared by Zie Acha (@stateofharzie) on

A post shared by ZEDRIK EUROPE (@zedrikeurope) on

Where it is: 1603, Pasig Blvd, Pasig, 1603 Metro Manila
What you can expect: Intimate, neon-inspired food park. You know how neon-based photo techniques are in nowadays? Yup! You can do it in this secluded eatery!

The Yard at Xavierville

A post shared by Jacob (@jacobgxrcia) on

A post shared by Rens Maquinto (@rensmakintoo) on

Where it is: 83 Xavierville Ave, Quezon City, Metro Manila
What you can expect: Theme: Garage-Junk-Yard fiasco. As you can see in the facade, you can expect that the inside would look as grunge-y and that’s the beauty of it. The Yard can go as high as three floors of metals, barrels, fences, and, of course, good food.

North Hive

A post shared by Lorrenzo Martin Santos (@martinshmartin) on

A post shared by Doydoy Vacalares (@___dreivac___) on

Where it is: Blk 5 Lots 19 & 20, Don Faustino, Quezon City, Metro Manila
What you can expect: By-the-garden picnic. North Hive is an enclosed food park with a garden-like interior. It’s spacious and has around 20 concessionaires. In fact, it’s so spacious that they’re planning to build a life-size chess and jenga to entertain their guests! Bonus: They have samgyupsal. I mean, who has ever seen a samgyupsal in a food park?!

Pioneer Street Market

A post shared by Precious Carabeo (@sushilishus) on

A post shared by krystle dizon (@krystle_dizon) on

Where it is: Reliance St, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila
What you can expect: Food park meets weekend bazaar. Pioneer Street Market is an all-in-one food park that makes it perfect for families. You can buy different goods and produces and dine-in if you’re already feeling peckish since they have many picnic tables around. If you’re not convinced to go here yet, they are air-conditioned. Worth it!

Carnival Food Park

A post shared by Faith Almasa (@faithalmasa) on

A post shared by RIO (@riopenarroyo28) on

Where it is: Gil Fernando Ave. Sto. Niño, Marikina City
What you can expect: Carnival fun. We’ve always seen carnivals in the US on our television screens and we, if not all, would want to experience it. If you think that the US is too far to go to, Marikina’s distance isn’t so bad for a carnival-inspired food trip. This food park is all about bright colors, amazing food, and, for sure, instagrammers everywhere!

Sagul

A post shared by Sàgul Malingap Foodpark (@sagulfoodpark) on

A post shared by Sàgul Malingap Foodpark (@sagulfoodpark) on

A post shared by Sàgul Malingap Foodpark (@sagulfoodpark) on

Where it is: 43 Malingap, Diliman, Lungsod Quezon, 1101 Kalakhang Maynila
What you can expect: Food x Beer x Art. Sagul’s market are those who’s looking for a place to just drink and be merry in. With their abundance in beer and ‘pika-pika’, it’s an absolute match with the live singers they hire. Being with friends, drinking beer and eating good food, while listening to soulful singers? That’s something!

Food Haven at 77

A post shared by Raynand Olarte (@raynandolarte) on

A post shared by gwayzeelee (@gwayzeelee) on

Where it is: 77 W Capitol Dr, Pasig, 1603 Metro Manila
What you can expect: Museum-like Food Park. Is it a museum? Or a food park? It’s both! This may be the first food court in the country where they mainly highlighted the art they curated. As guests enjoy their delectable food, they can go around and appreciate the art around. Just be careful not to dirty the art, though!

The Truck Food Park

A post shared by Mara Joyce (@marajoyce) on

A post shared by Regina Felix (@redgefelix) on

Where it is: 8 Mayor Gil Fernando Ave, Marikina, 1800 Metro Manila
What you can expect: Food trucks. The Truck Park’s design is similar to a truck and once you go in the enclosed food place, you’ll be greeted by a lot of food. Marikina is relatively far, but it’s worth going to!

Space Food Park

A post shared by Spacefoodpark (@spacefoodpark) on

A post shared by Spacefoodpark (@spacefoodpark) on

Where it is: 240 Menlo, Maynila, Kalakhang Maynila
What you can expect: Astral galaxy. Being relatively near universities such as DLSU, CSB, Arellano, etc., this galactal food park easily entices customers with its interior. You would be able to see the moon, stars, spaceships, and many, many more. Needless to say, their food and beers are ‘out of this world’. Pun intended.

The Yard Underground

A post shared by Ralph De Juan (@ralphdejuan) on

A post shared by Mark Vicencio (@vicenciogm) on

Where it is: Christian Route cor. Hillcrest Drive, Pasig
What you can expect: London subway. The Yard Underground gets its name from its aspiration to imitate the vibe of London subways. The design is similar to The Yard at Xavierville, but this food park is more modern and intact. Nonetheless, the food is as superb as its predecessor!
